ATLANTA (AP)—Georgia Tech backup quarterback Jaybo Shaw is transferring to Georgia Southern and will be eligible to play for the Eagles in 2010.

Georgia Tech confirmed Shaw’s plans on Monday.

Shaw will play for new Georgia Southern coach Jeff Monken, who was an assistant at Georgia Tech the last two years.

Shaw will have two years of eligibility at Georgia Southern. He played in seven games, including one start, as a freshman in 2008. He was slowed in 2009 by a broken collarbone in August before playing a more limited role behind starter Josh Nesbitt.
