(6.23.09) ACC-SEC clash is close to selling out; Another cross-conference showdown is set for ‘12; Another Florida State player in trouble, but their recruiting is picking up; Maryland also upped the size of their ‘10 class; and Georgia Tech dodged a bullet with the recent injury of a star player.
The hype has only just begun for the ‘09 season, where ACC and SEC powerhouses will face off to start the season. Chick-fil-A execs have to be smiling, as VTech has already sold out their allotment of tickets. This one already has a lock as my OOC game of the year.
And ACC/SEC showdown’s appear to be the new trend (and I for one am psyched), as NC State and Tennessee have agreed to play to open the 2012 season.
Florida State has it’s own primetime showdown to open the year against Miami, but they’ll probably be 1 player short as Maurice Harris has been suspended for his recent arrest. But good news for the Noles: recruiting is doing fine, as they picked up 3 more commitments. And FSU wasn’t the only team hot on the trail, with Maryland grabbing another one for the ‘10 class.
And on a sour note for Georgia Tech, their KR/PR specialist Roddy Jones has a dislocated wrist. But there is some good news – he is expected to ready for the season opener.
