Around the ACC – July 1st

(7.1.09) Today’s Around the ACC is jam packed. Update on Mark Herzlich from his blog, more on the situation with UNC losing recruits and players, why FSU is crying foul, one teams self-reported violations, and a TON more. Plus, a very interesting non-football story on how one betting firm lost $1.6Million because of former Clemson golfer Lucas Glover and his unlikely win.

  • The QB situation is still not settled at Clemson. Many thought former Byrnes standout Willy Korn was set in stone as the next starter for the Tigers, but after an impressive spring game by dual-sport star Kyle Parker, Coach Dabo has them BOTH listed as #1. Apparently that was enough motivation for Korn to work on his technique to gain an edge.
  • And finally, I’m not the only one predicting a rather successful season for the Hurricanes in ’09 – Coach Randy Shannon lists his reasons as well.
