Around the ACC – July 14th
Found a few interesting articles from around the league: 5 reasons Clemson could succeed/fail plus an in-depth look at their QB Willy Korn. Q&A with a former teammate of Korn’s, the nations #1 prep RB Marcus Lattimore, and also a Q&A with Georgia Tech RB Jonathan Dwyer, plus a look at GT’s recruiting. Speaking of RB’s, Miami’s Graig Cooper is looking towards 1,000 Yards in ’09. And finally, ACC Coaches that should be sweating this season.
Sorry for the lag lately on stories. Doing some finishing touches on Unit Rankings: Running Backs (due out tomorrow). I’m also compiling ’09 Depth Charts, having to hand type them (thanks to all the official team sites that used damn PDF format). And OMG did you hear? Tony Romo and Jessica split up. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes when I heard that one from my g/f (but at least she’s sweet enough to think Tony Romo = sports = interests me). Enjoy some reading guys.
- Boston College is moving quickly to get past the loss of Dominique Davis and Joe Boisture by signing blue-chipper Chase Rettig.
- Really good look at 5 reasons why Clemson could fail and 5 why they could succeed in ’09. One of the key pieces could be QB Willy Korn, who is finally getting his swagger back. I’m sure that confidence would blossom a little more if he could his former teammate RB Marcus Lattimore in the backfield in ’10. Found a good piece on the #1 RB in the nation here.
- Georgia Tech RB and Heisman contender Jonathan Dwyer sat down with Doug Roberson for a little Q&A. AJC also gave us a look at Georgia Tech recruiting.
- Bad decisions by his players cost Bobby Bowden a few wins, and likely a shot at having the most W’s all-time. At least they feel bad.
- The Tar Heels are already on my radar for a surprise team in ’09, especially with who they return in the backfield. Apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks so.
- Hurricane RB Graig Cooper showed how much of a stud he was last season. The ’09 campaign should see him hit a thousand.
- Last time I checked, if I’m not performing well at my job, I’ll get laughed out of the office if I ask for a raise. Maybe ole Ralphy should think about that one.
- And finally, a really interesting piece on which ACC Coaches should be sweating the ’09 season.
