Around the ACC

(5.27.09) Welcome me back, took a week away for my ladys bday festivities, but not much has happened around the league. Breaking story today though about FSU WR R.Goodman being arrested/suspended.

So the bad breaks keep coming for Papa Bowdens boys. Senior WR Richard Goodman was arrested and suspended indefinitely today, stemming from a fight last year.

Keeping with the Seminoles, Bowdens future as the head man may rest on the decision of the NCAA committee. The motivation of being #1 all-time in coaching wins and competition with Joe Paterno has kept Papa B around, but if the committee decides to yank that many games away, Bowden slides at LEAST 1 season behind Joe Pa.

Duke continued it’s stellar (well stellar for them) 2010 recruiting class, adding a solid 3-star dual position athlete. Cutcliffe is definitely working magic with that program.

Tough economic times have already affected financial decisions in the league, so it’s no surprise they’re affected individual teams, and Miami’s AD is having to get creative to save a few bucks.

[Late Add-on]
Clemson has lost reserve OL Barry Humphries for the first 2 games of ’09.
